Joel's Mexican Food

I was not entirely sure how it was all going to go but my belly is singing a happy little song (still)

The array of high school kids were there, a Dad taking his 2 sons for lunch ("fascinating" conversation about how to do business - none of the tips I will pass along as I don't think I would look good behind bars or in horizontal stripes for that matter).

What a treat!  My first go around was 2 carne asada tacos and by the time I finished the first... completion of the second was going to be nearly impossible (this is when I wish I had a dog)

I arrived at 1130AM - it was already buzzing and some of the high school students brushed up on their Spanish when ordering in front of me.  Obnoxiously amsuing (probably sounds like me when I am in Buenos Aires navigating my way around).

The service was simple and efficient.

There were photos of various lunch and breakfast items (almost felt like I was back in Singapore with the photos that accompanyt the food items for "guests" of the nation)

The freshness - DIVINE (I think I have a thing for cilantro)
The amount of meat and quality - HEAVENLY
I almost feel like I should be writing this on a Sunday given the vernacular of those preceding sentences.

Definitely a repeat visit and a place to take friends ... likely accompanied with sippy cups given there is not an alcohol license (and most of us have a tendency to spill after so many said sippy cup beverages).

All in all - BIG THUMBS UP .. and a very welcomed suprise as I navigate my stomach from my Argentine diet to the US in the weeks ahead.

Speaking of stomach - this is what found its way into mine at Joel's (please overlook the quality of the photo as it is the photographer's fault for leaving the camera at the house and only having a Blackberry phone).  Good thing I have Pilates tomorrow (oh yes ... something to look forward to on the blog).
